High School Receiver Dominating The Field With One Arm

When Kris Silbaugh was 5 years old he plopped down on one knee and taught himself how to tie his own shoes. By the time he turned 9, Silbaugh was blowing past his neighborhood pals and catching deep balls in pickup football games so often that he became the most feared receiver on the block. At 14, in his first year of organized football at Cambridge Springs (Cambridge Springs, Pa.), he was carrying that distinction with him onto the gridiron as a freshman on the varsity squad. All modest feats that immediately upgrade to mind-boggling when you consider that Silbaugh was born without his left hand. “It was just some sort of birth defect,” Silbaugh said. “Nothing was wrong. It has never stopped me. I just don’t let it; never have.” Be clear: Silbaugh isn’t “good for a guy with one hand” he’s downright dominant. Last Friday, Silbaugh became Cambridge Springs’ all-time receiving yards (915) leader when he snagged a 43-yard touchdown catch during a 63-0 win over Saegertown (Saegertown, Pa.). “I knew I was close to it last year, but I had forgotten about it,” Silbaugh said of breaking the previous record of 912 yards from 1998. “I was shocked; one of my coaches told me at halftime and I was just like, ‘Oh wow!’ It definitely makes me feel good that I was able to do that, but I always believe in myself.” Even when it’s uncomfortable. Coming up, Silbaugh always wanted to play football, but, admittedly, let his fear “of what people would say” halt those plans. He internally struggled with the “why me” questions but kept his feelings bottled up. “I never wanted anyone to pity me,” Silbaugh said. “I hate that feeling.” Instead, the pent-up feelings created a football-sized chip smack-dab on his shoulder and by freshman year the desire to suit up outweighed the discomfort. “I knew I wanted to be a receiver, but I didn’t know how everyone would react when I tried out,” Silbaugh said. “Finally, I just kind of went for it. I knew I would have to be better than good. I still remember Coach (Clint) Rauscher, who was the head coach at the time, and he was a little shocked when I said I was a receiver.” Kris Silbaugh said he always feels like he's got something to ptove. (Photo: Jeff Bobin) It didn’t take long for Silbaugh to transition from being the “one-handed player you’ve just gotta see” to being the player you’d better focus on stopping. “It went from the guys being excited to see if he could actually do something to them counting on him to make plays,” said Justin Grubbs, who was an assistant since Silbaugh started playing as a freshman and is now in his first year as head coach at Cambridge Springs. “It’s just amazing to see what he’s able to do. He makes catches that you wouldn’t believe. He’s a guy that defenses have to have a game plan for and he’s just so fast.” How fast? Silbaugh clocks a 4.4-second 40-yard dash; the same range that five-star prospects were in this summer at The Opening Championships, Nike’s football camp for the top high school football players in the country. “I’m pretty confident because of my speed and I just feel like every ball is a catchable ball for me,” said Silbaugh, who also plays volleyball and basketball. “I’ve been getting a few letters from colleges, but I’m just focusing on the season. I just want to help the team in any way that I can.” Plus, Silbaugh’s got yet another record in his sights: All-time receptions leader. Currently, he’s sitting at 38 catches for his career; two this season. The record is 57. “I definitely want all of the records I can get,” Silbaugh said. “It’s crazy that, at first, no one knew me and now I get the best guy in the secondary all the time. I still feel like I have to prove people wrong because there’s always someone in the stands that hasn’t seen me play. I know that people will always be shocked at what I’m able to do because I only have one hand, but my goal is to be known as a dominant player, period.”

I feel like i might be the only one to say it but last year that Odell Beckham catch was one of hte most over rated things the entire year if not ever. Don’t get me wrong, OBJ is a freak of nature athlete. We’ve seen him do videos excelling at different sports like baseball and soccer so im nto saying he’s not a good wide receiver. But for a game in which the Giants lost, he got alot of love for a catch that im almost sure any receiver can make. The way those receiver gloves are designed these days will stop the spin on on a football instantly. So many players have made one handed catches that the novelty of OBJ’s should be dead. You know who might kind of agree? Kris Silbaugh over here. Why? Because he makes one handed catches all the god damn time because he only has one hand. Dude can only make one handed catches, not to mention almost the same 40 time too. Just feels like every time now one hand catches dont meant much because they have the option to use two hands and thats like fundamentals. This guy makes one handed catches in his sleep and hes gotta do it for the rest of time if he continues playing.

Football is back and chicks are cumming their pants because of Pumpkin Spice Lattes literally. I mean one can only assume thats what this is all about right?

Rugby Player Just Obliterated A Ball Just By Falling On It.

https://youtu.be/h0njIVhVYa0

Fucking Rugby is no joke. I always kind of wondered why it hasn’t blown up here in America. I mean we bash soccer people all the time and i would stand by all of what we say. They flop, they’re soft, the game sucks, its slow, low scoring etc. Its all true. I don’t know the scoring or rules or anything at all really about rugby but I know Rugby hooligans aren’t pussies. No pads, running into a scrum, tackling mother fuckers and destroying rugby balls seems like an awesome thing to watch. Here we gotta expect like 30 flags a game for defensive fouls and shit. Maybe its just a false perception in my head but i feel like they get like an LT type leg break every other game.

Either way just love the play. Snap the ball and trying to get a play going and then the guy just gives the old Dikembe No-no- no! and smacks the ball right to the goal line. Pick up the egg, crack it down, make an omelet. Thats just how Rugby guys do it.

Arsenal Fan gets Trolled By Man U Fan When He Buys an Arsenal Season DVD. Ends Up Being Just a Picture Of RVP

One cunning Manchester United fan has played a ruthless prank on an unsuspecting Arsenal supporter hoping to buy a DVD. Loyal Gooner Sam bought an Arsenal season review DVD on eBay to watch back their 2009-2010 season, preparing himself to sit down and reminisce about the days when Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Thomas Vermaelen and Samir Nasri all wore the Arsenal shirt with pride. But when he went to play the DVD he received a very, very shocking sickening discovery.

Brutal.

Brutal.

Im not a soccer guy by any means. I mean we get the soccer culture a lot because South Florida is like a mini united nations for Spanish speaking countries and all those people watch. But i occasionally watch from time to time. That being said, i dont know the rivalries really. All i know is i had a Man U friend for a long time and then this little chick from Bermuda asked what soccer team i would follow and i said Man U and she told me “Fuck outta here with that” because she was an Arsenal fan. Well guess what, Arsenal fans? Man U, Robin Van Persie, and @obviously_jack just troll slapped you with their dick from that ebay purchase. O Jogo Bonito, Bitches.

Sidenote- Robin Van Persie is one of the only names i know and love. Dude’s a good lookin dude and puts balls in the net.  Aside Team USA its Team Netherlands for me.

Three High School Kids Were Duped Into Thinking They Were Recruited To A College In Virginia Beach, Turns Out To Be A House At An Online College

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Three young men say they bought one-way tickets to Virginia Beach after they were promised their dream of playing college football would be fulfilled, according to an exclusive report from TEGNA partner WVEC in Virginia. Those dreams were shattered when they came to Virginia Beach and realized that there was no football team, and the college they were promised didn’t exist at all. “So we came out here and this is what it was, we came to his house,” said Bernard Walker. Walker, along with his friends Keishay Harvey and Robert Brown said they first heard from Willie Williamson when he contacted them about playing football at a college in Virginia Beach. “He was running Redemption Christian College, we were under the impression that it was this big thing. He made it seem like, you know, the college is really known in the area, we get a lot of people there, a lot of support from churches, and everything like that,” explained Walker. But the college, as it turns out, is not at all what Walker and his friends expected. Walker says they had to sleep on the man’s floor after they arrived to Virginia Beach. That is when they said they began raising red flags. “I asked them, I said where is the school at, the school is wherever you are at, it’s an online school, we are like online, we were under the impression that we are going to be in a classroom, dorm rooms,” said Walker. Virginia Beach police officers came to investigate the situation, but say they found no criminal activity. 13News Now reached out to Mr. Williamson for comment. He defended his organization over the phone. “What we did, there’s Century International College, we have a program, and we partnered with them and they are our sister school, we have an articulation agreement, so everybody who wants to come down, I just brought other kids down here, I’m still bringing kids here, so you publicize it,” he said. Mr. Williamson said he paid for travel fare home for the three young men. Police said the case was handed over to The Economic Crime Unit. This unit handles cases of identity theft, embezzlement, larceny related to check & credit card fraud, computer crime & fraud, obtaining by false pretense, bad checks, forgery, construction fraud, bigamy, perjury, fail to return rental property, and counterfeit US currency and checks.

Well when it comes to higher education and Collegiate athletics Redemption Christian College probably falls to the very bottom of the list. Did these kids get tricked out of money and a missed first fall season of college? Sure. But If you go on the website for 1 second and think that this is a legitimate school, you’re a moron that doesn’t deserve higher education and the college party life. The website looks like it was made on the worst wordpress site ever. Shit this website is better than theirs. I mean getting tricked and persuading them that they should go there for education is one thing but using the football angle? Thats absolutely preposterous. At some point you would think their coaches, school administrators, friends, family members, the fact that “Redemption Christian College” has never been one of the teams playing on the Saturday football slate in the Fall, would clue these kids on the fact that this school is faker than the South Harmon Institute of Technology. I mean the fact that these guys couldn’t google this place and address and see that it was some run down 1 story house is really beyond me and the fact that they even spent the night there on some guys floor is ridiculous. I mean yea i don’t know what a mans suppose to do at that point being duped out of a major life decision, but the answer is definitely not sleeping on the floors of said scam. Any person that can misread a situation like this can’t be trusted on the field.

Dragon Slayer is a ridiculous name for a football team.

Joe Philbin’s Lost His Mind

https://twitter.com/NemmyKash/status/634898285489168384

Who is this guy!? Joe Philbin just putting on a clinic on stage rocking out. Saturday preseason game against Carolina? Philbin ain’t got time for that, he probably has to go watch other summer blockbusters and sell out venues once that useless game ends. Memo to the rest of the NFL- You better lock up the back doors and run for your life when the Dolphins come to town!

**UPDATE** Im Offically on Philbin watch for the next 42 hours. Is he on a drug binge? Did he find out he has terminal cancer and doesnt give a fuck anymore? I dont know but im about to get an all white tux complete with a top hat and just link up with Joe and the rest of the Dolphins team and staff and party on the town maybe.

Joint Practice Between the Fins and the Panthers Did NOT Go Well.

SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA The Dolphins lost a starter Wednesday. Louis Delmas lost more than a million dollars. The question going forward: Has Delmas’ career been lost as well? For the second time in less than a year, Delmas sustained what appeared to be a catastrophic injury to his right knee. Some nine months after tearing his right anterior cruciate ligament, Delmas has done so again, initial tests have revealed. If the prognosis is correct, Delmas will be lost for the season and would have the longest of roads back to football. Teams were already wary of Delmas’ injury history; this offseason, he signed a contract with language that voided all but $400,000 of his $1.5 million contract if he sustained a season-ending injury in the preseason. He also obviously will not receive any of the playing-time incentive bonuses that were written into his deal. But after two ACL tears in as many seasons, Delmas, 28, would be fortunate to ever play again, industry insiders say. “He’s a great teammate, a great guy,” fellow Dolphins safety Reshad Jones said. “It’s bigger than football. I just went to make sure his mind is right and say a prayer for him.” Delmas went to the ground untouched during one-on-one drills Wednesday during the first of two joint practices with the Carolina Panthers. Delmas collapsed in obvious pain while covering former Dolphins receiver Ted Ginn Jr., grabbing his right knee. He needed to be carted off the field. Delmas is undergoing an MRI exam to confirm the severity. Dolphins coach Joe Philbin would not get into specifics when he met with reporters coming off the field. “I haven’t really had a chance, obviously, since practice has wrapped up,” Philbin said. “Obviously, we’ll check on him and hope for the best.”

Its a god damn shame when a solid player like Lou Del gets injured in the preseason. Things were on the upswing the with Dolphins adding pieces like Suh to the defense, picking up a little on offense, Tannehills performing well in practice and preseason. So when we see a season ending injury in the secondary, it hurts. By all accounts Delmas was a nice genuine dude, never seemed like a dick. Had a Nice pick six last season before his same ACL first got injured. The big picture for him now gotta work on healing and if he can still have a career in the NFL or if he’s gonna be labeled as injury prone. Hopefully Delmas makes a strong recovery and still has some semblance of a career in the NFL. Time for people to step it up with Jones, Thomas, or Aikens.

On the other side of the field Kelvin Benjamin on the Panthers tore his ACL. Heard people say it was bad turf. Either way, hope these 2 heal up soon. This is kinda why i think steroids and HGHs kinda should be allowed. Human Growth Hormones just sound like they get more youthful and could heal better. Im on board for that.
