Hunger Games Series To Build A Theme Park In Atlanta

(NEWSER) – Hunger Games fans in the US and China may get to find out for themselves if the odds are forever in their favor. Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. confirmed Monday that the blockbuster movie franchise has been licensed for development in a theme park in Atlanta and an indoor entertainment center in Hengqin, China. The New York Times, which earlier reported the news, said the Atlanta park is targeted to open by 2019, while the Chinese center aims to open by late 2018. Fans are already getting to interact with the story featuring heroine Katniss Everdeen through attractions such as the traveling display "The Hunger Games: The Exhibition," which is now in Discovery Times Square in New York. An immersive theatrical show is to open in London next summer and a theme park featuring a "Hunger Games" zone is planned to debut in Dubai late next year. The franchise's finale, Mockingjay Part 2, is set to hit the big screen this month.

Group of kids killing each other!

Now obviously we aren’t gonna have kids carted off in ambulances in this fake simulated Hunger Games theme park. And that’s why this one sucks. If Im asked to go to a Hunger Games Theme park, Im going dressed in camo with a 150 lb bow and a K-bar knife ready to kill anyone in order to stay alive. Im gonna expect for anything and everything in the wild to come at me and gotta stay mentally alert all while balancing befriending people to gang up on others while also plotting to kill them at the same time. None of this we wont kill each other bullshit. To the victor goes the spoils and the spoils in this case should be life and food for the village or whatever. Sometimes it sucks that we live in a country where we “care” about the well being of others.

This one in China though, they better pull out all the stops. If a kid dies, he dies. Its china. Sure I’m fine with some laser tag type of killing here in America with some live CGI type thing. But in China where they have a one child policy and a population growth rate that would push us to the brink of extinction, maybe pay some VIP package where we toss in real kids and real pointy tipped arrows or something. Is it evil? yes, but thats the Hunger Games for ya.
